The treatment nozzle consists of the following devices: a pair of wobbler magnets and a scattering foil, used to spread the beam in the lateral direction; a ridge filter and bolus, used to form the treatment field in the depth direction; a multi-leaf collimator, which shapes the lateral field to conform to the tumor shape; and the range shifter, used to fine-tune the maximum range of the proton beam.
Treatment Delivery System
Provides quick, flexible and accurate field shaping for treatment.

Treatment Delivery Console
Easy-to-use system for the operator to set and monitor the treatment parameters.
Measured Data Display Screen: Displays SOBP measurements in an easy-to-read form.
Multi-Leaf Collimator Setup Screen: Allows easy setup and status monitoring of the multi-leaf collimator.
Beam Line Equipment Status Display Screen: Clearly displays preset and current values of the beam line devices.
Treatment Table Operating Console Display: Allows easy setup and status monitoring of the beam line devices.
Beam Characteristics
Allows selection of the appropriate particle beam for treatment.
The particle beam differs from conventional gamma rays or x-rays in that the dose increases deep inside the body. The synchrotron supplies the particle beam at the appropriate energy for the particular depth range.
The particle beam is spread in the depth direction using the ridge filter. The dose distribution is shaped to conform to the thickness of the tumor.
The wobbler system spreads the particle beam to form a uniform lateral field, and the multi-leaf collimator creates the optimal treatment field.
