Testing Facilities

We carry out product development tests on our products at five test facilities. At these test facilities, electrical and mechanical performance can be verified for not only substation equipment, but also for electrical components used in railcars and various other apparatuses.

High Power Laboratory (Itami)

The High Power Laboratory conducts short-circuit and make-and-break testing for high-voltage circuit-breakers independently.

High Voltage Laboratories (Ako/Itami)

This is where the high-voltage and partial-discharge testing of substation equipment is conducted during the development stage. Additionally, research and evaluation of insulation phenomena are carried out here.

Vibration Test Station (Itami)

Verification of the aseismic performance of substation equipment and various industrial equipment is carried out at this laboratory, as well as the vibration testing of railcar components. Bi-directional horizontal/vertical motion testing, and testing based on international earthquake-resistance guidelines and vibration standards are also performed.

Climatic Test Room (Itami)

This room is used to simulate environments where equipment will be used. Various weather conditions such as low and high temperatures, snowfall, rainfall and repeated cycling tests can be configured. The outstanding feature is the capability to test equipment by applying high AC currents, lightning impulse voltage and three-phase current flow.
