POSITION
SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, responsible for the design, development, modification and application of electrical components, parts and equipments for traction, hydraulic elevator and escalators. Also, technical interface with sales, service and field operations departments within EED, engineering and manufacturing facilities at Inazawa Works in Japan for traction elevators and escalators, with our IDESA factory in Mexico for hydraulic elevators, other manufacturing facilities in Asia, and other domestic vendors and suppliers in the US for the purpose of integrating technology.
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to
the following:
· Develop, design and evaluate elevator electrical and mechanical components and systems.
· Coordinate design details of components and systems among Mitsubishi-designed products and IDESA-designed products.
· Prepare technical manuals for use by other departments in EED including, but not limited to, Duty Tables, Installation Instruction Manuals, Adjustment Procedure Manuals, Maintenance Procedure Manuals, Parts Manuals and Sales Engineering Manuals.
· Participate in the design of hydraulic elevators suitable in conjunction with other engineering disciplines within EED and Inazawa Works.
· Perform necessary engineering calculations as required to design and apply elevator and escalator components.
· Assist other departments in the diagnostics and testing of elevator and escalator controls and dispatching systems (trouble shooting).
· Conduct necessary negotiations with suppliers in the procurement of components.
The non-essential functions of the position include, but are not limited
to the following:
· Produce memos, letters, progress reports and other communications for internal/external distribution.
· Update and maintain pertinent portions of the engineering database.
· Performs other job functions as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
· 1-3 years of related experience.
· Knowledge in motor control including Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) and microprocessor control systems.
· Prefer experience or knowledge in electrical mechanical parts and controller I/F.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
