Inazawa Works
Since its establishment in 1964, Mitsubishi Electric Inazawa Works, a dedicated elevator and escalator manufacturing plant, has forged a leadership role in both technology and quality. Considered the “mother factory,” Inazawa Works currently delivers Mitsubishi Electric elevator, escalator and moving walk products to 79 countries.

With a goal of producing quality products while promoting business activities that are in harmony with the environment, the plant itself has emerged as a model of modern manufacturing.

It boasts an environmental control system that conforms to international standards and is dedicated to saving energy, recycling reusable materials, and implementing all forms of effective environmental protection and conservation policies.

History of Inazawa Works
1921   Mitsubishi Electric Corporation established.
1931   Started elevator and escalator production.
1935   Delivered the first elevator and escalator.
1950   Exported an elevator for the first time.
1964   Established Inazawa Works, the world’s largest factory dedicated to elevators and escalators.
1966   Established Mitsubishi Elevator HongKong Co., Ltd. (Renamed from Ryoden Lift & Escalator Company Limited.)
1968   Established Taiwan Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. (Renamed from China Ryoden Co., Ltd.)
1969   Established Mitsubishi Electric de Colombia Ltda. (Renamed from Melco de Colombia Ltda.)
1972   Established Mitsubishi Elevator (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (Renamed from Ryoden (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.)
Established Mitsubishi Elevator Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (then Ryoden (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.)
1976   Established Mitsubishi Electric de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (Renamed from Melco de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.)

1982   Started production of industrial robots, remote-monitoring systems for buildings, and security systems.
1991   Established Mitsubishi Elevator Asia Co., Ltd. in Thailand.
1992   Established Mitsubishi Hitachi Home Elevator Co., Ltd. in Gifu, Japan. (Renamed from Mitsubishi Electric Elevator Products Co., Ltd. in 2000 when Hitatch invested in the company.)
1994   Awarded ISO9001 certification for Quality Management.
1996   Awarded ISO14001 certificate for Environmental Management.
1998   Transferred production of industrial robots to Nagoya Works.
2001   Established Mitsubishi Elevator Korea Co., Ltd.
2002   Established Mitsubishi Electric Shanghai Electric Elevator Co., Ltd. (Renamed from Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd.) in China.
2008   Opened SOLAÉ, the world's highest elevator testing tower (as of October 2008.)
Established Mitsubishi Elevator Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Renamed from Melco Elevator Vietnam Co., Ltd.)
2013   Established Mitsubishi Elevator ETA India Private Limited.
