Environmental Conservation Tree planting activities in Shanghai

Since 2008, Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. has sponsored a tree planting event in collaboration with the Shanghai municipal government. Each year more than 100 volunteers from Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in China participate in this event, which serve a valuable role in promoting CSR through contributions to the local community and environmental conservation, and to promoting a sense of unity between Group employee families.

In 2018, the 10th year since the start of this activity, a total of 136 people participated and planted 10 cherry blossom trees and 60 plum blossom trees.

Social Welfare Culture and Arts, Sports Volunteer activities at Mitsubishi Friendship Cup soccer tournament for people with disabilities

Since 2015, Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. has worked with 11 Mitsubishi Group companies to support the Mitsubishi Friendship Cup private soccer tournament for people with disabilities. This soccer tournament features three categories: Blind Soccer, Deaf Soccer, and CP Soccer (7-person teams for persons with cerebral palsy).

In 2018, which marks the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China, deaf women’s soccer teams from Japan and Korea were invited to participate in friendly matches.
The Mitsubishi Group promotes participation in volunteer activities by employees to help develop the spirit of volunteerism. Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. employees support event operations by helping with event setup and cleanup.

Environmental Conservation Culture and Arts, Sports RUN FOR ECO

Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. supports RUN FOR ECO, an event held in Shanghai that combines environmental conservation and running. During this event, participant running distance is converted into donation points and the equivalent amount is donated by Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd., an official sponsor of the event, to environmental groups. Running points are also combined with mobile game points from a previous event and donated to the China Environmental Protection Foundation.

In summer 2018, saplings purchased through donations were planted in Yunnan Province.

Environmental Conservation Mitsubishi Electric China Youth Environmental Promotion Activity

Since 2016, Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. has collaborated with the China Youth Center For International Exchange to hold Mitsubishi Electric China Youth Environmental Promotion Activity. These activities are comprised of three initiatives: environmental development activities, environmental symposiums, and outdoor environment conservation activities.

Environmental development activities involve discovering and supporting superior projects related to environmental technology, education, and programs. Environment symposiums provide the opportunity for participants, including university students, environmental specialists, and Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. employees, to exchange information and opinions on environmental improvements and corporate environmental social responsibility in China. For outdoor environment conservation activities, Chinese youth and Mitsubishi Electric (China) Co., Ltd. employees conduct educational activities related to biodiversity at various outdoor environment conservation sites.

Since 2017, these activities have been officially recognized by the governments of Japan and China as commemorative events celebrating the 45th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Japan and China, and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China.
