Geared Motors Product Features

Overview

Premium efficiency compliant with IE3

With international initiatives underway aimed at preventing global warming, countries around the world have been introducing regulations obligating manufacturers to produce and sell high-efficiency motors. In 2015, the Japanese government put into force the Act on the Rational Use of Energy ("Energy Conservation Act")
Currently, all products comply with IE3*1 class of international standard.

Mitsubishi Electric's premium geared motors are high-performance, energy-saving devices that reduce loss (primary copper loss, secondary copper loss, iron loss, stray load loss, and mechanical loss) and comply with IE3*1 standards for high efficiency. As such, they allow for the energy-saving operation of machines and devices. (0.75 kW or more)

●Efficiency class (IE code)

*1: Motor efficiency classes — The Japan Industrial Standards Committee has issued the JISC4034-30, which is based on the International Electrotechnical Commission's IEC60034-30 standard that specifies energy-efficiency classes for single-speed, three-phase, cage-induction motors. (see table at left for categories)

Sensorless servo

S-PM geared motors achieve stable speed control and energy savings through sensorless control.

These sensorless servos combine S-PM motor (permanent-magnet motor) with Mitsubishi Electric's unique sensorless vector controller to achieve high-precision speed control. With a ±0.05% speed variance rate that is comparable to servo motor, it can be put to use in conveyance applications that require high precision such as on semiconductor and liquid-crystal production lines that induction motors cannot handle.

The drive unit FR-E700EX incorporates increased CC-link network functions. (Optional card required.)

Country-by-country compliance

The below chart summarizes the status of our products in terms of compliance with standards (efficiency certifications, safety standards, etc.) in certain major markets.
Status by standard: Indicates the output range under each respective country's standard.
Supported range: Indicates the manufacturing range for geared motors taking into consideration the restrictions in each respective country.
The standards or certifications for efficiency are apply to an output range of 1 HP (0.75 kW) or more. (as of September 30, 2023)
