Announcement Regarding Unauthorized Access to
Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Mechatronics Web Sites

Mitsubishi Electric detected unauthorized access to its Industrial Mechatronics Web Sites "DIAX-NET" (http://www.diax-net.com) and "MELLASER-NET" (http://mitsubishielectric.co.jp/laser/). Further investigation has indicated the possibility that registered customers' information on these sites may have been illegally accessed.

We have taken or will take the following initial steps in response:

• We have temporarily closed these web sites, and are restoring the parts affected by the unauthorized access.
• We will inform each registered customer about this issue.
• We offer our apologies for the inconvenience caused to registered customers who are not able to access these web sites.
• We have confirmed that customer data has not been compromised due to unauthorized access to any other Mitsubishi Electric web sites.
• We are strengthening network security to prevent the recurrence of such issues.

1. Details

On March 8, 2010, system-related problems were detected on the Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Mechatronics Web Site "DIAX-NET". After investigation, we discovered that site content had been tampered with, and we found evidence of unlawful attempt to obtain registered customer information from the sites' database. In response, we have closed Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Mechatronics Web Site as of March 9, 2010.

3. Future measures

We will announce the restoration schedule for Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Mechatronics Web Sites on Mitsubishi Electric's Official Web Site.
