Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. and Electric Broadband LLC Announce Joint Marketing Agreement
Companies will develop, market broadband-over-powerline solutions

Warrendale, Pa., March 12, 2004 --- Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) and Electric Broadband LLC have signed an agreement under which the two companies will jointly engage in the development, marketing and support of broadband-over-powerline (BPL) solutions that bring broadband internet access to homes through standard electrical lines.

Until recently, utility companies’ use of power lines has been limited to monitoring and controlling the power grid using power line carrier. Recent advances in BPL technology have opened up new marketing opportunities for high-speed, broadband communications over medium and low voltage lines. Utility companies, long familiar with operating in a conservative, regulated environment, are looking to companies that can help them develop a competitive broadband business.
