Mitsubishi Electric Installs Diamond Vision Screen at Pocarisweat Stadium

Volleyball court-sized screen to be operational for J. League club TOKUSHIMA VORTIS' home opener March 6

Tokyo, March 4, 2011 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has completed installation of a 824-inch, Diamond Vision display system at Pocarisweat Stadium in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. The new screen replaces the previous electrical scoreboard built in 1992, and is the first large-scale LED screen installed at the stadium, the home of J. League Division 2 soccer club TOKUSHIMA VORTIS. The screen is scheduled to be first used for the club's home season opener on March 6.

The 18.72 meter x 9.36 meter screen, one of the largest of its kind in Shikoku, incorporates high-luminance light-emitting diodes (LEDs) aligned vertically and horizontally in a 15-millimeter dot pitch (see specifications below), and the latest digital screen controllers. The screen is installed on the stadium's south stand, and will display textual and graphic information as well as live videos and slow-motion replays in high definition.
