Mitsubishi Electric to Expand Electric System Business in Myanmar

Signs technical license agreement with AGT for 100MVA 230/66kV transformers

TOKYO, June 25, 2015- Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today that it has signed a technical license agreement with Asia General Transformer Co., Ltd. (AGT) to supply the Myanmar-based manufacturer with design and supervisory technical support for the production of 100MVA 230/66kV oil-immersed core-form transformers.

Mitsubishi Electric will provide electrical design documents, technical assistance, technical training and consultation to enable AGT to manufacture the transformers.

Mitsubishi Electric currently is providing technical support for medium-voltage switchgear to AGT's sister company, Asia General Electric Co., Ltd. (AGE). AGE and AGT are both owned by Asia General Holdings Co., Ltd. (AGH).

Myanmar, a country with significant economic growth potential, has increasing demands for power-supply equipment, including high-voltage transformers. Mitsubishi Electric looks forward to contributing to the country's energy infrastructure through its technical license agreements with AGH group companies.
