Emergency Operations
There are three types of Emergency Operations: Emergency Operations under Power Failure, Fire Emergency Operations, and Earthquake Emergency Return Operations.

Flowcharts for the movement of elevators and related equipment during emergencies are provided below for elevator owners.

Two types of operations: Operation by Emergency Power Source (OEPS), and Operation by Mitsubishi Emergency Landing Device (MELD).

Fire Emergency Operations
Two types of operations: Fire Emergency Return Operation (FER), and Fireman’s Emergency Operation (FE).

Earthquake Emergency Return Operations
Elevator cars are moved to nearest floors when an earthquake is detected by seismic sensors.

Two types of operations: Primary Wave Earthquake Emergency Return Operation (EER-P), initiated if primary seismic waves are detected, and Secondary Wave Earthquake Emergency Return Operation (EER-S), initiated if secondary seismic waves are detected.
