At the time, it was an urgent task for Mitsubishi Electric to find technological partnerships with overseas manufacturers in order to capitalize on the shift towards domestic production of electrical equipment. Following repeated negotiations, a technological licensing agreement signed with Westinghouse Electric International. Mitsubishi Electric sent representatives to the US and eagerly learned various technologies, in everything from R&D to manufacturing processes.

Thanks partly to those efforts, the company’s technological edge dramatically improved, paving the way for the creation of its industry-leading products, including elevators and turbine generators.
