Culture and Arts, Sports Sponsoring El Primer Palau at Palau de la Música Catalana

El Primer Palau, or "The First Palau" cycle of concerts, was organized by the Orfeó Català-Palau Foundation of Catalan Music twenty-one years ago with the aim of supporting young talent born or resident in Spain in the difficult step into professionalization. It offers them the opportunity to debut in the concert hall of Palau de la Música Catalana, a modernist concert hall designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner and inaugurated in 1908. The First Palau is part of the program of the Orfeó Català- Palau de la Música Catalana, providing a strategic cycle to the program with its unique and coveted nature.

The exclusive involvement of the Spanish Branch of Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V.’s air conditioning section goes back eighteen years and has, from the very beginning, supported the concert cycle with a substantial economic contribution. Its involvement is crucial to the development of the same, as it is the source of funding for contracting and offering endowment to the musicians. Every year Mitsubishi Electric invites 120 customers to the preliminary concerts and 250 customers to the final concert which also features an award ceremony for the winners and a concert by the winner of the year’s edition. In total, about 700 people attend these concerts yearly.

Social Welfare Support for "Hunger does not make holidays" campaign

Since 2014, the Spanish Branch of Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V., through its office in Sant Cugat del Vallés, annually collaborates with food banks in the campaign "La fam no fa vacances" (Hunger does not make holidays).

A food bank is a private, independent and non-profit charitable foundation whose objective is to fight against hunger, prevent consumable but non-marketable food from being destroyed and, to make sure food reaches the most needy people in the community.

"La fam no fa vacances" is a campaign to collect basic foodstuffs to ensure that the most needy people receive food aid during the summer.
The scope of the campaign includes olive oil, milk, canned fish and meat, fried tomato, cooked and dried vegetables, rice, pasta, biscuits, and other such foods of high nutritional value that are a basic part of people's daily diet. The campaign is coordinated by four food banks in Catalonia.

Over a period of a week, boxes are set up at the reception counter where all employees who wish to cooperate can deposit food for donation. The food banks collect the food and deliver it to an NGO that distributes it to needy people in the vicinity.
