A team of undergraduate students from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) took a major step toward their dream careers by winning the prestigious first prize at MECA Thailand 2025. Their award-winning project, which utilized AI to enhance quality and reduce waste in the surfactant manufacturing process, also aimed to minimize environmental impact.

MECA Thailand is not just a competition, it's a springboard for the young generation to fulfill their dreams. Themed around "solving decarbonization challenges in the Thai industrial system with engineering expertise", the 2025 edition aimed to provide a platform where students could transform creativity and innovative ideas into solutions that help the industry reduce CO2 emissions. The competition also provided opportunities for all participants to level up their skills, with exposure to industrial professionals and state-of-the-art equipment. This year's competition was judged by a committee of five well-known individuals from prominent tech companies and three technical experts from Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation. The winning projects were judged on criteria such as creativity, innovation, environmental impact, pitch/presentation, and technical and business feasibility.

In addition to MECA Thailand 2025, the event also showcased “Technology Hackathon 2025”, offering a mini workshop for high school students, and the “Greenbot Application Concept” competition for higher vocational students on the concept of “Standard Wiring and Programming Dobot MG400 for Reducing Scope 1 Emissions.” The event also included seminars on topics by speakers from various industry associations.
