The Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII) confers the National Commendation for Invention in recognition of inventions that contribute to the progress of science, technology, and the development of industry. Through this Commendation, the Mitsubishi Electric Group was awarded the Imperial Invention Prize in FY2024 for its data encoding systems (information security technology), and in FY2020 was awarded Prize of The Chairman of Japan Business Federation for its air-conditioning technology.
