More Than a Name: Building Trust Through Partnership at Mitsubishi Electric HALLE
Mitsubishi Electric supports factories, buildings, and infrastructure and plays an important role in Germany by delivering solutions that benefit both industry and society.
At the same time, products and technologies alone do not define a company.
How a company builds relationships with the communities and how it earns and maintains trust is also an important factor in creating long-term corporate value.
Mitsubishi Electric HALLE in Düsseldorf is one example of how this philosophy is put into practice.

The Role of Mitsubishi Electric HALLE
Düsseldorf is home to a wide variety of cultural venues and event spaces. Among them, Mitsubishi Electric HALLE has become a well-known gathering place where people come together to enjoy music, sports, entertainment, and more.
The value of such a venue lies not only in the facility itself, but in the opportunities it creates for people to meet, connect, and share experiences.

Beyond Sponsorship
When people hear about corporate sponsorships of public venues, they often think of advertising or brand visibility. However, the value of a long-term partnership goes far beyond recognition alone.
Barbara Sutter, Head of Central Marketing Services at Mitsubishi Electric Europe German Branch, sees the partnership in the following way.
"For us, the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE is much more than a name sponsoring. It reflects our long-term connection to Düsseldorf and our commitment to the region. We are proud that our name is associated with a venue that brings people together through culture, entertainment, and shared experiences. It also reflects our belief that successful companies should contribute not only through technology and business, but also by supporting the places where people connect and create lasting memories."
This philosophy is reflected in the partnership between Mitsubishi Electric and D.LIVE, the company that operates Mitsubishi Electric HALLE. The partnership has continued for more than 15 years. The objective has never been solely to increase brand awareness. It has also been about contributing to the local community and creating meaningful experiences for visitors.
Nils Böringschulte, COO Brand Partnerships & Hospitality at D.LIVE, sees the partnership as a strong example of how companies and venue operators can create value together.
"The most successful partnerships are those that create value for everyone involved. Our collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric goes beyond venue branding and contributes to the long-term development of the venue experience for visitors, partners, and the local community."
This mindset is also reflected in the day-to-day operation of the venue.
Stefan Bergermann, General Manager and Executive Director of Mitsubishi Electric HALLE, believes that the value of the venue extends far beyond the events themselves.
"When people think about the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE, they often think of the artists who perform on stage. That's true, but the real story begins even before the lights go on. Thousands of people arrive and, for a few hours, differences in age, profession, or background simply disappear as everyone shares the same experience together."
However, the partnership extends beyond creating shared experiences for visitors.
Mr. Bergermann also describes the relationship between Mitsubishi Electric and D.LIVE as follows:
"What started in 2011 as a naming-rights agreement has evolved into something much deeper: a genuine strategic alliance built on shared values. Mitsubishi Electric is not simply a logo sponsor; it is an important partner that actively helps shape what we do."
The partnership is reflected not only in the venue's name. Mitsubishi Electric has also contributed to the visitor experience at the venue. In 2022, the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE upgraded its aging air-conditioning system with a new chiller solution from Mitsubishi Electric, improving energy efficiency, environmental performance, and visitor comfort throughout the venue.
Mr. Bergermann believes that this is one of the key advantages of a long-term partnership.
"Because of our long-standing collaboration, we can make long-term investments and continue developing the venue for the future. We are able to modernize the facility continuously and ensure it remains an attractive destination for all kinds of events. This allows us to welcome not only leading names in sports and music, but also emerging talents, creating unique experiences for their audiences."
The success of these efforts has been widely recognized.
"It is no coincidence that Mitsubishi Electric HALLE was named the number one concert venue in its category in Europe by the international industry publication Pollstar in 2023."
Together, these initiatives demonstrate that sponsorship can be much more than a branding exercise. Through long-term collaboration, trust can be built, venues can continue to evolve, and meaningful value can be created for visitors, partners, and society alike.
Building Connections Beyond the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE
The partnership with Mitsubishi Electric HALLE is one example of how Mitsubishi Electric engages with society. However, the company’s commitment extends beyond a single venue. In Düsseldorf and Ratingen, Mitsubishi Electric supports various activities that connect people and strengthen community bonds. In addition to backing local cultural events and community initiatives, the company collaborates with schools, universities, and educational programs aimed at nurturing the next generation.
Ongoing relationship-building with society are fundamental elements of corporate activity. Establishing trust with the local community not only enhances corporate value but also contributes to creating an affluent society.
Strengthening Communities Through Partnership
The Mitsubishi Electric Group places sustainability at the core of its management and values the trust of its stakeholders, including society, customers, shareholders, and employees.
This commitment is reflected not only in its business activities, but also in the way it engages with local communities.
By supporting Mitsubishi Electric HALLE as a place where people gather, interact, and share new experiences, Mitsubishi Electric contributes to creating value together with society.
The relationships built in Düsseldorf were not created overnight. They have been nurtured over many years through continuous engagement and mutual commitment.
Going forward, Mitsubishi Electric will continue to value its connections with society and contribute to building a vibrant and sustainable future for the communities in which it operates.
