Mitsubishi Electric released its MG series of wire-cut electrical discharge machining (EDM) systems in July 2025. The development project took two years, with many twists and turns along the way. The development team dug deep into customer feedback to uncover underlying needs, which required a significant change of direction to meet. We look back on how the product was planned and implemented, which enabled it to deliver the functionality that users really wanted.
