#From employees around the world #Interview #North America #USA #Mitsubishi Electric around the world From Pittsburgh: The unsung team powering the digital world — UPS experts protecting data centers.
Mitsubishi Electric has many business locations around the world. How do Mitsubishi Electric Group employees, who play different roles in a wide range of business areas, approach their work every day? In this series of interviews, we take a look at the candid views of employees in different locations.
Since 1964, Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) has introduced cutting-edge technologies to the market, such as 3-level Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), using SiC power modules. We have solved customers' problems and contributed to the protection of critical infrastructures.
John Campion says, "As a member of a global company that values the quality and diversity of products, I am pleased to be able to contribute to combining the advantages of Japanese and American business cultures." As a General Manager, he supervises Mitsubishi Electric's data center business in North America, protecting data centers and other critical infrastructure for government, and financial and medical institutions.
Sota Fukushima, a Business Development Manager, says that when he traveled overseas during his school days, he saw how Japanese products, such as automobiles and railway systems, supported the social infrastructure of the countries he visited, which made him realize that he wanted to be involved in work that supports the world's infrastructure. Mitsubishi Electric is the most reliable company in the market, based on many years of experience and innovation. The fact that the company manufactures many products that support the infrastructure led him to make the decision to join the company.
Our digital society relies on data centers. Huge amounts of data are generated with every click and swipe. Digital infrastructure networks underpin these transactions to drive our lives and businesses. The mission of this team is to support this infrastructure by ensuring a stable power supply and improving the energy efficiency of the data centers.
Power outages are a serious risk for data centers. If a data center loses power, not only are web services, applications, and business systems unavailable, but the IT servers themselves may be lost. Mitsubishi Electric's UPS handles this risk with high uptime and reliable robustness to ensure customers' computing services from momentary voltage drops and unexpected power outages. Because of its small size, it can be installed in any location, even with peripheral equipment, while it is even designed to reduce costs. In addition, the UPS is environmentally friendly due to its superior power efficiency.
In this way, Mitsubishi Electric's UPS systems function as uninterruptible power supplies that protect critical infrastructures around the world from power outages, contributing to the stable operation of data centers as an unsung hero.
Mitsubishi Electric is building a community not only within the team, but also with customers and partners. The digital revolution we are working on together is making things better every day.
