VERA RAINBOW ALMA SUBARU
SUBARU:one of the world's largest and best telescope

Mitsubishi Electric delivered "Subaru," one of the world's largest and best performance optical and infrared telescope, to National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. It is located on Mt. Mauna Kea in Hawaii for clear and stable climate. Mitsubishi Electric is contributing to the 21st century astronomy through this powerful telescope.

SUBARU
Features:
Extremely high resolution
Subaru Telescope has achieved very high resolution where it can identify a tennis ball on Mt. Fuji from Tokyo 100km away. Primitive stars billions of light years away are observed by this telescope and is expected to reveal the origin and evolution of the universe.
One of the largest mirror in the world
The keys which make Subaru one of the best telescopes in the world are one-piece mirror with aperture of 8.2m and the 261 shape-maintaining actuators. The mirror is so huge that its shape is easily distorted by its own weight. To avoid this, 261 computer-controlled actuators maintain the correct shape and surface accuracy of the huge mirror.
