Rising to the challenge of integration MELSEC MX Controller

In early 2025, Mitsubishi Electric released the MELSEC MX Controller, a new type of integrated controller for factory automation (FA) applications. This new product marks a shift away from ever higher performance toward deeper integration. To achieve this, rather than insisting on their own technologies, Mitsubishi Electric also incorporated general-purpose technology, which can be something of a double-edged sword. In this article, we look back on the development project and how the MX Controller evolved into an integrated controller.
