Cleanup of Rhine River banks in Dusseldorf

Eleven volunteers from the German Branch of Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. participated in Clean-up Day in Dusseldorf, a community activity organized by the city of Dusseldorf to beautify the banks of the Rhine River, which flows through the city. The event is an opportunity for local residents and corporate citizens to come together for a common purpose with immediate local environmental benefits. Some 127,000 local residents turned out on March 26,2011 for the first municipal activity of its kind, and collected 900 tons of rubbish. Company participants concentrated on cleaning up banks near Dusseldorf Kaisersweth, and collected more than 20 bags of rubbish in approximately two hours.
