The event was well attended by EU and other Environmental organisation representatives.
On the 6th October 2009, the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE), the representative organization for Japanese companies operating in the EU, celebrated 10 years in Europe by holding an anniversary symposium at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Brussels.
To mark the event JBCE members took the opportunity to share their initiatives in the field of the environment by showcasing products and technologies, including in particular technologies for renewable energy and energy efficiency related to fighting global warming. Many companies also highlighted their targets for reducing CO2 emissions, and introduced the energy efficiency measures within their organizations.
Keynote speakers at the event were Mr. Nobutake Odano (Ambassador of the Mission of Japan to the EU) and Mr Mattias Ruete (Director for General Energy and Transport of the European Commission).
During the event representatives from Mitsubishi Electric explained the company's Environmental Vision 2021 to JBCE members and visitors to the symposium.
