The MELSERVO J5 series are high performance AC servos that are also being recognized for their energy saving capabilities, for example winning the 2020 Excellence as energy-saving equipment and systems award from Japan's Director-General of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy. Contributing to this was the use of high-resolution encoders (67,108,864 pulses/rev) that help provide stable control by lowering torque fluctuation, as well as amplifiers with a high speed response of 3.5kHz, both of these features help reduce machine cycle times and save energy. The J5 servo amplifiers are also ideal for large systems and supporting digital manufacturing, as they are compatible with the high performance networking technology CC-Link IE TSN.

In addition, the use of digital twins to simulate machining steps helps to reduce waste and improve tool life through load and tool tip control, contributing to greater sustainability.
