1. Structure

  • The operability, serviceability and maintainability of machinery have been improved by arranging components used frequently, such as the drawer-type devices (e.g., VPR/VMC/VT units), grounding switchgear, and monitor and control devices, in a compartment on the front of the panel front, and protective devices (e.g., CT, ZCT, LA, and CR) and the main circuit cable in a compartment on the back of the panel.

2. Specifications

  • The MS-E can operate up to a maximum busbar current rating of 3,150A using natural ventilation.
  • The incorporation of a (FBC) epoxy resin coating (FBC) having a long history of good performance when used between main circuit phases and ground connections, provides even stronger insulation for the live sections of the main circuit. (optional)
  • The drawer-type VPR/VMC units built into the MS-E offer the highest mechanical durability and electronic durability classifications, and comply with IEC international standards.

  • The VPR of the MS-E provides excellent current isolation performance thanks to combining a vacuum interrupter using spiral contacts manufactured using a new material and an electric control mechanism with a solid track record spanning many years.

3. Operation

  • The interior panel drawer-type VPR/VMC/VT units can be moved from the disconnected position (test position) to the operating position without opening the panel (from outside of the panel).
    (Drawer-type VPR/VMC units have a mechanical interlock preventing open/close operation during operation and when in an intermediate position.)

4. Safety

  • The MS-E design satisfies the internal arc protection classification (IAC) of AFLR.
    ・The “A” of AFLR restricts access to authorized personnel only, while the “FLR” means safety is required up to a height of two meters in the front (F), sides (L), and rear (R).
  • MS-E is in the highest operating continuity loss category, securing safety at the time of service and maintenance work, and a protective plate grade (LSC2B-PM class).
  • MS-E features mechanical and electro-mechanical interlock conditions complying with IEC62271-200.

5. Maintenance

  • To facilitate smooth grounding of the main circuit during service and maintenance work, the grounding switch is located on the main circuit busbar and cable draw-in circuit.

6. Installation

  • The MS-E can be transported with the drawer-type VPR/VMC*1 /VT units installed in the panel.
  • Sufficient space for cable termination has been secured in the main circuit cable compartment.
  • Inter-panel connection of the main circuit horizontal busbar is done by installing a connection conductor.
  • Inter-panel connection of the connection conductor is done using the bolts on either side of the connection conductor.
*1: When switchboards equipped with a VMC are shipped from the factory, the fuse on the VMC is removed and sent separately.
