- What is the job of "DX engineers" who lead the Mitsubishi Electric Group's value creation from the front?
"Productive actions than endless debates." That's Mr. Susumu Koseki's favorite phrase among twelve principles displayed at Mitsubishi Electric DX Innovation Center (DIC). We got up close and personal with him as he works as a "DX engineer." He consciously tries to make decisions and act on them as quickly as possible in order to create value by combining various data and people.
"Serendie®" holds the key to the Mitsubishi Electric Group's efforts to become a "Circular Digital-engineering Company." It is a digital platform to aggregate and analyze data collected from the Mitsubishi Electric Group's diverse business operations, with the aim of creating cross-sectional services. The Mitsubishi Electric Group is pushing forward with the expansion and strengthening of DX human capital. DX skill sets are defined with seven areas. Mr. Koseki is playing an active role in one of those seven areas, DX engineering. He is an engineer who is mainly involved in design and development of platforms, as well as the introduction of tools, and the development of technology infrastructure.

He says he feels his job most rewarding when his team has found solutions and he realizes the growth as a team. Every time they overcome a challenge, his team steps up and is ready to take on further challenges.
A sense of responsibility is also leading to his pride as an engineer who is in charge of important technology infrastructure to be used across the Group.
The development of data analysis system is still in its infancy. As he also tackles a technological challenge of distributed data management architecture, Mr. Koseki hopes to successfully develop this as a platform engineer. He will continue to work for the development of practical and valuable platforms.
